REVIEW OF RAISING THE DEAD BY C.W. CRANDALL MD

In Raising the Dead: A Doctor Encounters the Miraculous, Jeff Martin collapses at the ER entrance after he had a massive heart attack and was pronounced dead 40 minutes later. The code team attempted to shock his heart with defibrillator paddles but his heart never restarted. As a nurse was preparing Jeff's body to be taken to the morgue, Dr Crandall has an urge to pray for Jeff even after he knows he is dead. He asked the ER physicians to shock Jeff once more and he came back to life.

Raising the Dead: A Doctor Encounters the Miraculous
This is a story of a doctor, a skeptical scientist by nature, who came to believe in supernatural healing. It's the story of how a Yale-trained physician and cardiologist learned about God's heart- the way its beating gives life and sustains us even in the worst of times. It's my story.(Taken From the introduction)
But how did a cardiologist whose Palm Beach practice includes some of the most powerful people in American society, including several billionaires, come to believe in supernatural healing? The answers to these questions compose a story and a spiritual journey that has transformed Chauncey Crandall.

About the Author-

Dr. Chauncey W. Crandall IV is chief of the Cardiovascular Transplant Program at the Palm Beach Cardiovascular Clinic in Palm Beach Gardens and is on staff at Good Samaritan Medical Center and Jupiter Medical Center. He has lectured nationally on topics including heart transplantation, preventive cardiology, healing, and cardiology health care of the elderly. He is the author of a new health and wellness newsletter from Newsmax.

My Thoughts-

What a fascinating book. Dr Crandall wrote from his heart and was very real and honest. As a RN, I have dealt with sadness numerous times in my career and I often though why has God inflicted pain on that person. After reading the book, I have realized that miracles do happen in our lives but we just do not see them. The book was an easy read and I recommend it to everyone who needs a little inspiration in their lives.
