About the Book-
Meet Kate Flaherty, an artist who is estranged from her father, visits him when he is on his deathbed. He makes a starling confession about her mother. Her mother died in a car accident when she was eight years old. Her parents had a terrible fight and her mother ran out of the house. She was killed by a drunk driver and her father had lived with the guilt for many years. While she is driving home, she remembers the conversation that she had with her husband, Drew, and tries to call him. As she is leaving a message, she almost hits a deer. She drops the phone and screams. When Drew gets the message, he is so upset that he sets out to find her. Her cell phone has no service and she is forced leave her car to get help. She comes across a diner with a lone employee and then the night turns weird. She has to get away. What is Kate to do? Kate has been having marital problems and she wonders what the future will hold. She realizes that she has to make some hard changes and she has to do them fast. Does Drew find her? I would love to tell you more but I do not want to ruin the story for you.
My Thoughts-
I enjoyed the book and the title was appropriate. It was beautifully written and covers topics that can affect our lives. It was very easy to follow, and there was a lot of emotion throughout the story. Kate had difficulty with trusting since she found out the truth about her mother, and that affected her relationship with Drew. Will Kate learn to trust again? So pick up a copy of this fantastic book. You will not be disappointed.
